Election results 2007

While we were unable to gain seats in our area, the percentage of votes gained was well up on previous elections. We have made good progress, with the Suffolk Coastal population becoming increasingly Green-minded.

Marion Gaze did extremely well against the Conservative candidate in the Peasenhall ward, with 38%.

Other good results were
Richard Roberts in Orford and Tunstall ward, with 22%, also
Peter Ward in Otley with 16.7% and
Eddie Thompson in Framlingham with 15.9%.
These were followed by Rachel Fulcher in Hacheston with 13.4%;
Anthony Taylor, Woodbridge Riverside, with 11.9%;
Jonathan Mulberg, Felixstowe North, with 8.4%;
John Forbes and David Keeble, Martlesham, with 8.2 and 6.7% respectively;
David Riebold in Leiston at 7.4%.

2,275 people voted for us.
This is most encouraging, but there is still much to be done, and we would very much like to hear from you, our supporters, and get to know you.
Please contact us if you would like to be on our mailing list and receive our newsletter. You can join the local party for a very small sum, which just covers mailing costs. Even without actual seats, Suffolk Coastal Greens continue to be an effective pressure group, actively involved in local campaigns.

THANK YOU for your support, which is hugely appreciated.
