Our roads aren't up to Sizewell plan

1 February 2016

There are many reasons why the plan for a new nuclear power station at Sizewell C is a bad idea. One of them is the utter inadequacy of the local roads to deal with the construction traffic that would be generated by a plan bigger than the 2012 Olympic site in London.

Suffolk Coastal Green Party member Tom Haslam of Yoxford has written to the local press about the issue.

"Many people," he says, "are still unaware of the scale of the proposed development of not one but two new nuclear power stations."

And he asks the most pertinent question of all: why are we in Britain persisting with nuclear power over the cleaner, cheaper and safer options?

You can read the whole of Tom's letter, as it appeared in the East Anglian Daily Times, here.
